It's A Wrap!

Where else would you get a man in a red coat ringing a bell, a group of teenage hoodies (they wre very sweet), a lady with a Goldie Lookinng CHain, a lady with a megaphone, someone ranting on a stool, cocktail sausages on a paper plate, a ckae in the shap of a huge letter U, Bumper Goody Bags, rap poets, a band called Bootsale....it must be the Art U Need Needs U Wrap Party!

"Manifesto for the Public Realm" Conference

I got there late as I had to see my kids off to school + get to Rochford frokm Norwich. Bob had been asked to "be me" with the first group until I got there. I arrived to see the fruits of his session - a fold-out "What is Public Art" document...so already I'm trembling in my shoes!! Anyway, I boughth along some fairy cakes + the ubiquitous sparkly cloth, a blackboard + some chalks. Aftre lunch each artist had two more groups. The results of our discussions are on the boards. THen it was downstairs for a collective discussion/debrief culminating in Bob's hilarious Manifesto for the Public Realm in which "all children shall be CRB checked".

Art at the Centre Study Tour 27 March

I had a lovely aftrenoon in Harwich - loads of containers on the horizon - having been invited by Clare Cumberlidge of the General Public Agency to give a presentation of 'Art U Need Needs U' to the study tour. Funnily enough they had been to Basildon that afternoon, looking at an intiative housed in a container in the grounds of the Chalvedon High School.
